Calibration of BarographsBAS is approved by the British Gliding Association to calibrate all types of barographs and flight recorders. Calibration is carried out against a mercury micro manometer and a full calibration chart is provided. The charge for calibrating one instrument is £15.00, which is reduced to £14.00 per instrument if more than one unit is sent at any one time. There is a further charge of £6.00 to return the unit/units by Special Delivery. For IGC and FAI Badge purposes, mechanical barographs require calibrating each year, while for IGC approved flight recorders the interval is two years. If the barograph/flight recorder is only used for Competition purposes under BGA Rules then the calibration interval extends to five years. Recorders used in overseas competitions are required to be calibrated to the two year IGC cycle. Normally, a barograph is calibrated within a week of receipt but if you want a faster service, please contact by e-mail or phone and I will normally be able to improve on this at no extra cost. Units for calibration should be sent to: R Feakes 11 The Poplars Launton Bicester OX26 5DW |
